The Bihar Government’s Manpower Department is constantly striving to provide employment opportunities to downtrodden individuals and families in the state. The government has also introduced many campaigns encouraging young people to choose self-employment by working on their skills. Currently, a new solution has been adopted as part of the employment services development program, under which young people will receive a set of tools enabling self-employment in accordance with their qualifications.
As part of the program, the toolkit will be equipped with materials and tools for specific work that will help young people become self-employed and acquire new skills. This will not only give them a job but also help them earn money without working for the organization.
According to reports, electricians, vehicle repair technicians, fitters, beauticians and plumbers will be trained under the program. To benefit from the benefits, interested parties will have to go to the office and apply for a toolkit certificate. The Deputy Director, Lower Regional Planning Office, Chapra, Bihar will then investigate the matter and if the investigation finds everything to be in order, the concerned candidate will be provided with the toolkit.
Currently, Shobha Kumari is the Deputy Director of Lower Regional Planning Office, Chapra. She revealed that the age limit for availing the benefits of the scheme was set at 18-35 years. One of the main eligibility criteria is passing the BSDM or ITI equivalent examination in a specific field. Apart from this, she also added that the annual income should be less than Rs 1.80 lakh.
The toolkits will only be distributed to those who registered on the NSC portal before August 16. According to reports, people belonging to Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST), Backward Classes and transgenders will also get additional benefits.
Interested candidates can submit their applications at the office of the Deputy Director of Lower Regional Labor Exchange, Chapra, along with attested photocopies of relevant certificates, by December 30. After this deadline, they will not be able to use the benefits.
