Government has increased employment in traditional and emerging sectors: Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday assured that his government has increased employment opportunities in traditional as well as emerging sectors such as renewable energy, defense exports and automation.

Distributing nomination letters to nearly 51,000 people employed in various government departments as part of the Rozgar Mela during a virtual event, he said the exercise highlights his government’s commitment towards the youth of the country.

The government not only provides employment but also maintains a transparent recruitment process. Efforts have also been made to restructure and streamline the examination procedure, Modi stressed.

The Prime Minister noted that hundreds of thousands of young people have so far received nomination letters under the Rozgar Mela organized since October last year by his government and states ruled by the BJP and its allies.

Today, India is equipping its youth with skills and education to take advantage of emerging opportunities.

India’s trajectory and the pace of its progress are generating new job prospects across sectors, he said.
The Prime Minister said that the recruitment time by the Personnel Selection Commission has been reduced by almost half.

The examinations are currently being conducted in 13 different regional languages apart from Hindi and English to help those affected by the language barrier, he added.

He also spoke about the recent recognition by UN bodies of several places in India as tourism and cultural heritage sites.

The Prime Minister said the revival in tourism is increasing sources of employment and a similar trend can be seen in sports as the sector grows and Indian athletes perform better than before.

The government is strengthening traditional sectors providing employment opportunities and also promoting new sectors such as renewable energy, space, automation and defense exports, he said and highlighted the growth in the drone sector.

He said that the Khadi sector has seen a revival and his government has regained its lost glory.
